my people Sponsoring City Stages Music Festival

New residential phone service company supporting city’s largest community festival

March 6, 2006- Birmingham, AL- my peopleTM, a next-generation residential broadband telephone service, announced today that it will be co-sponsoring the annual Birmingham City Stages music festival scheduled for June 16-18. One of the 9 festival performance stages will be identified as the “mypeople.com Stage.” Momentum Telecom, my people’s sister company, sponsored a stage at the 2005 City Stages Festival.

City Stages is a non-profit organization that sponsors the Americorps INTUNE program and grants scholarships to high school seniors interested in pursuing musical careers. City Stages began in 1989 and has grown into a Festival attracting thousands of music lovers from across the country. This year, downtown Birmingham will host more than 125 performers during the three day festival.

“Birmingham is a special city with a great sense of community and we want to support it in every way we can,” said Alan Creighton President and CEO of my people. “City Stages is something Birmingham looks forward to all year long and it is exciting to be a part of it.”
